I loved the book much more than the movie, and I say this is mostly because the characters have a lot more personality to them. For one, howl is much more sassy and fits the characteristics you'd assume he'd have with the way he was in the movie, constantly contradicting himself, being cowardly, etc. Not saying he wasn't that way in the movie, but I loved the way he was portrayed more in the book. In Sophie's case, she's also much more sassy and straightforward. She confronts Howl a lot more, tells him what he needs to hear, and won't take no for an answer. Like I said before she IS that way in the movie, but it's represented better in the book in my opinion.
