sharespot is committed to the safety of everyone on it, minors most of all. this page sets out our standards for preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (csae) and child sexual abuse material (csam) on the platform.
zero tolerance
we have zero tolerance for content that sexually exploits or endangers children. never allowed on sharespot:
- child sexual abuse material (csam) in any form
- sexualized or suggestive content involving minors
- grooming, predatory behavior, or any attempt to contact minors for inappropriate purposes
- content that promotes, normalizes, or facilitates harm to children
violations mean immediate account termination and a report to the authorities.
age requirement
sharespot is only for people 13 and older. anyone under 13 may not create an account.
reporting in the app
anyone can report content or an account that breaks these standards, from the app or the web:
- open the three-dot menu on the post or spot
- choose report
- pick the reason
- send it
a person reviews every report and acts on it promptly.
reporting to authorities
when we identify csam or an imminent threat to a child, we report to:
- the national center for missing & exploited children (ncmec) in the united states
- the relevant law enforcement and regulatory bodies in the jurisdictions that apply
we cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations into child safety violations.
the laws we follow
sharespot complies with all applicable child safety laws, including:
- 18 u.s.c. § 2258a (mandatory reporting of csam in the united states)
- coppa (the children's online privacy protection act)
- applicable state, federal, and international child protection laws
