omfg I saw a bunch of people on Reddit slandering perks of being a wallflower saying how it was a basic predictable premise and didn’t hold any real value which is CRAZY! like the movie captures the essence of being a teenager while navigating difficult thoughts and hidden trauma so well I can’t believe grown people can water it down to be basic and predictable urgh

exactly there are so many people who feel so seen and connected to it and people watering it down cause they don’t relate or don’t have the empathy to understand is crazy

honestly i see both sides here, on one hand it is a very overused and overplayed topic, however, and the unfortunate thing is that it’s STILL. a topic that is so relevant for today’s society making it very valid to “overuse” it, it’s genuinely not talked about enough even with how talked about it is
